Pastor Klieve Pastor John E. Klieve

Pastor John E. Klieve was born in East Cleveland, Ohio, in 1955, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Klieve. Pastor Klieve has two brothers and a sister. In school he was active in band and track and particularly interested in art. His family has always been very active in church functions.

Pastor Klieve is a 1974 graduate of Greendale High School, Greendale, WI, a 1976 graduate of Concordia College, Milwaukee, WI, and a 1979 graduate of Concordia Teachers' College, River Forest, IL where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. In 1983, Pastor Klieve graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, IN, with a Master of Divinity degree.

During his seminary training, Pastor Klieve served his vicarage in Baldwin, MI, at Grace Lutheran Church. He was ordained into the public office of the holy ministry and installed as pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Warren, MN, and Immanuel Lutheran Church, Radium, MN, on July 3, 1983. He has served parishes in Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Pastor Klieve has been pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, Port Washington since his installation on November 21, 1993.

On December 30, 1977, he was joined in holy marriage to Charlotte Schaefer of Racine, WI, daughter of Pastor and Mrs. Armin Schaefer. God has blessed the Klieves with a daughter, Joanne and son, Nathan.

Don Knuth Don Knuth,
Head Deacon

A lifelong member of St. John's. I was born in Port Washington, Baptized and Confirmed here. I Graduated from Port Washington High School and earned a Mechanical Engineering degree from the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Presently I am owner and President of Knuth Machine & Tool Corporation, a tool and die shop in Grafton.

I met my wife Renee' through youth work at St. John's. We were married at St. John's in 1973. We raised two daughters, Cheryl and Kristine, both active in our congregation. I have served St. John's as organist since 1968 and have been the newsletter editor for the past nine years. I have also served on various boards. I am congregation coordinator for Thrivent and have worked with many volunteers on AAL and Thrivent activities, most recently the Spring Plant Sale.

My hobbies include music and gardening. I enjoy working in the landscapes at St. John's.

Art Schoenfeldt Art Schoenfeldt,
Academy

Born and raised in Milwaukee, served 4 years in the USAF. Started working for Wisconsin Electric Co. after returning from the air force in 1959 Married wife Karen, also from Milwaukee in 1966, Transferred to the Port Washington Power Plant and moved to Port in 1966.

Karen and I have raised 4 children, Kristin, Debra, Susan and Andrew all baptized and confirmed at St. John's. While all are still members of a Lutheran church either in Wisconsin or Michigan, Andy is the only one left at St. John's.

Have been members of St. John's for 38 years serving on various boards and committees, presently serving my 2nd term on the board of deacons.

Hobbies consist of some gardening, model building, and in general fixing things around the house. Also work at golf in the summer and bowling in the winter, Driving to Grand Rapids , Michigan several times a year to visit Kristin, hubby Dr. John Bradley and our 2 lovely grand daughters takes up the rest of our time.
