The 144,000 number is often used to try and scare the hell out of people. But in reality, it’s a proclamation of the good news of salvation. This is at the heart of the comfort that comes from the Book of Revelation. John is shown a vast multitude in white robes standing before the Lamb. Salvation is not just for the Jews, but for all who trust in Christ from every nation. The Elder asks: “Who are these, clothed in white robes, and from where have the come? ” What comfort is there for our tragic time and is this the great tribulation?Join us at St. John’s Lutheran Church this Sunday at 9am for a message of comfort for times of great tribulation.
